Zomato has introduced a new feature allowing users to schedule food deliveries in advance.
This feature is available in over 35,000 restaurants across 30 cities.
Zomato has recently increased its delivery fee to INR 10.
Swiggy already offers a similar service called 'Swiggy Scheduled.'

Zomato, the leading food delivery platform in India, has launched a new feature that allows users to schedule deliveries in advance. This feature, available in over 35,000 restaurants across 30 cities, offers users the flexibility to plan their meals ahead of time.

This move comes shortly after Zomato increased its delivery fee for the fourth time this year. The company is also exploring fundraising options, seeking to raise approximately $1 billion through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP).

Despite recent profit growth, Zomato's net profit declined in the latest quarter due to increased expenses. However, the company's offline business, particularly after the acquisition of Paytm Insider, has shown promising growth.

Zomato's foray into order scheduling positions it to compete with rivals like Swiggy, which already offers a similar service. The company is also navigating the highly competitive quick commerce market, where it faces stiff competition from players like Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Tata-owned BigBasket.

Zomato's strategic moves, including the introduction of new features, fundraising initiatives, and expansion into offline businesses, highlight the dynamic nature of the Indian foodtech industry. As the market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Zomato adapts to changing consumer preferences and competitive pressures.
